We have just arrived back from our Executive Forum at the Sands, Torquay, which is an hour or so outside of Melbourne. It was a great venue - very self contained. I felt like we had our own private resort!
Our numbers were a little down on previous years. We had 7 attendees (7 client organisations represented). Our normal numbers are around 10. The intention this year, based on feedback from previous years, was to make the session more interactive. And whether this was contributed to by the smaller group or not is unclear, but it definitely was. The sessions generated lots of discussion.
Paul's presentation on balanced scorecard and the ASI corporate strategy generated plenty of discussion, both about where ASI was going and how we measured that, but also what each of the clients was doing in this area and the challenges they faced in getting their strategies documented and measures defined.
The PDO, as always, generates lots of questions. I have some thoughts around how we might present it a little differently and will raise these internally over the next few weeks. It was certainly great to have the Don here. Having the chief architect of the product explain the rationale behind certain directions and decisions certainly adds weight to the value of this presentation.
The case studies, as always, were well received. And the discussion on Emerging Trends, with a particular focus on social networking, was extremely interactive.
A great session. Thanks to Marla for making sure things ran like clockwork. And all the presenters for their contributions and customers for their participation.
